There is a giant cat walking across the lawn. Wait no, I think it might actually be a Shetland pony. I'm moderately afraid now.

Um, actually what makes me more afraid is the fact that my mother, who apparently has the day off, has been drinking since 10 this morning. I know it's only noon, but really. At least my dad waits till afternoon before he starts drinking on his days off! HAHAHAHAHAHA. Have I not mentioned before that I come from a long line of alcoholics? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Sweet Ganesha, why am I laughing? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Anyway, I'm only stuck here for two more weeks, right? Then back home to Craptown. Then, hopefully time will go by very fast and it will be August and I can go back to school where there are interesting and wonderful people. And you know what else? I'm good at school. That's where I'm in my element, being a geek. It's true. Maybe I should go on for a doctorate, scary dissertation writing or not. Because yeah. I'm a geek. A bookworm, an academic, a so-so flute player who will (let's face it) never get an orchestra job. I should content myself with being a penniless academic with no marketable skills... until I get a doctorate and then what? I'll be a penniless superovereducated geek named Dr. Mangofarmer....
