Ooooooh baby, randomize me!

Saturday evening link-o-rama.
2004-01-24 - 7:07 p.m.

I had a dream last night in which I became the main character in Margaret Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale. Yeah. But I was pregnant and I was running through the good mall in Bumblefuck trying to keep Robert Duval away from my baby.

So anyway.....

May the makers of all that is good and holy bless and keep you, SciFi Network. Thanks to you, and your ubergeekish programming lineup this afternoon of great trashy movies like Conan the Detroyer (finally- someone shows the Governator as he should be) and Clan of the Cave Bear, I consequently accomplished absolutely nothing today. Well, besides finish reading The Grey King and heading over to the library to get Silver on the Tree (yay for Susan Cooper, right Dr. J.?). That I even managed to fritter money away on four Airheads, a Mr. Goodbar, and a Caesar side salad and three of those chicken strip thingies from Wendy's.

Such gleeful laziness and geekiness. I think I deserved it. Did I mention I had to fill in for Other Flute Graduate Student yesterday in orchestra? Damn you, William Tell Overture! Damn you straight to Detroit!

And by the way, Aaron, for some reason I was thinking about airports the other day. While yes, the Detroit airport might be aesthetically pleasing, I personally believe this is an act it puts on to disguise its hellish nature. Detroit can not hold a candle to other, cuter airports like Pittsburgh or Cincinatti. Flights don't seem to get hopelessly delayed or cancelled when they stop in these places. And the gift shops are really spiffy.

Now for the belated Friday Five:

At this moment, what is your favorite...

1. ...song?

I was listening to an old mix tape last night, and I was particularly enjoying that old Toadies song. You know... that one.

2. ...food?

Those chicken thingies from Wendy's really hit the spot.

3. ...tv show?

Friends. Mostly unchangeable.

4. ...scent?

Mmmm, chicken. ;)

5. ...quote?

Not a quote, but a poem stuck in my head at the moment- "Who has seen the wind?" by Christina G. Rossetti. Love it.

****************

I think that's about it. Compared to all the boring uneventful Saturdays of the world, this one was one of the more interesting ones. Or something.

*Mangofarmer inches away from the computer before she hurts someone*

Have a good night all. :) *EDIT 8:17 PM* And now I've just gone and ordered three CDs off of Amazon. I'd tell you what they are, but if my sister might kill me. And this is all because Conan the Destroyer was on TV this afternoon. Hmmm. So now all that is left to do is go combine the little vodka and Baileys I have left into some sort of stange beverage and practice conducting. Mmmyes. Ah, laziness. :)
