Books out the wazzoo! 2003-07-12 - 5:04 p.m.
Used book sales make me so, so happy.
Here is the afternoon's killing:
-Andersen's Fairy Tales
-Greek Drama, edited by Moses Hadas (you know, the good stuff by guys like Aeschuylus, Sophocles, Euripides, Aristophanes, and Chinesejapaneseportuguesedirtykneeslookatthese)
-The Incredible Journey - Sheila Burnford (only because my sister gave away my copy :-P)
-The Bridges of Madison County -Robert James Waller
-A Walk Out of the World - Ruth Nichols
-A Tree Grows in Brooklyn - Betty Smith
-Legion - William Peter Blatty (the guy that wrote The Exorcist!)
-The Hotel New Hampshire - John Irving (I already have this book. Oops.)
-How Music Grew, 4th edition (copyright 1925) - Marion Bauer and Ethel Peyser (I like old music books.)
-Student Study Guide to Accompany The Music Listener - Andrew J. Broekema and Richard Barnet (so what- that's good history studying right in this book!)
-two books of elementary-ish piano music (yep, that's about my level)
-Breeze Easy Book One for Saxophone - Valentine Anzalone (hey, it could happen! last year I bought a beginner clarinet book- I just need to expand my instrument collection)
-two cassette tapes: Whitesnake (!) and Tchaikovsky's Suite no. 3 in G Major, Op. 55, with Michael Tilson Thomas and the LA Philharmonic
An acceptable haul if you ask me. Not as entirely geeky as my normal selection. You should hear the books my sister bought! Oy!
Anyway, there is no anyway. I am wearing my Dirty South monster truck rally shirt from *gasp* Hot Topic. I just thought I would share the joy of this (non)momentous occasion with you. Also, today I bought a shirt from *double gasp* JCP3nney! It says Mango Fandango on it! I had to do it! I had to!
