2002-11-17 - 7:51 p.m. Yaaaaaaay. I have a VCR/DVD player now. Can we say Sears associate discount and 10% off sale? $159.99 anyone? I like this a lot. Hooking it up will be another story. Now I'm no dumb girl or anything when it comes to these things. I know that to fix the TV when the picture gets all scratchy you hit the side of it. And to unfuck the computer you just turn it off and turn it back on again. I could also put a message on the answering machine if I really wanted to but I kind of like the tinny computer voice. See? Electronics is not brain surgery. I'm also literate so I know how to read directions. But wires bother me. Perhaps I was electrocuted in a past life or something. I don't know. Now I need DVDS. What to get? I already have "Lord of the Rings" on VHS, but that might be one to get. For what I don't have, I'm thinking also "Gladiator". Anything else? My compulsive CD buying of the past six months is bad enough, so probably the last thing I need is to be buying DVDs. Christmas is coming, is it not? :-D All the same, maybe if I make another pie I can bribe someone to come hookup my new toy. Eh maybe not. I can't bribe people with food. Which is too bad (warning: inflated ego ahead!), because I'm no slouch of a cook. When you crave key lime pie for four months straight, you just have to make it yourself, you know? That was a beautiful pie.... (end inflated ego alert zone) Um, anyway. I think I might go see "Harry Potter" again tomorrow. I really don't know what's the matter with me. Even when I saw "The Matrix" a second time I waited a week! Granted I was in school then, so I had a life. :-P But still, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. It was true to the book and simply magical. Not enough movies these days are magical. That's it! Is "E.T." on DVD? That would be magical. Magical magical magical. New word of the day. But yeah. I am a geek. What else is new? Dear Holy God/Buddha/Jebus/Allah/Ben & Jerry/Mother Nature/R2D2/Bill Clinton/Whomever, please give me the strength to pick up the goddamn flute tonight! I'll bribe you with pie! ;)
