Arrogant??? Me??? Noooooo.... :) 2002-09-10 - 7:41 p.m.
Well, I've had a pretty decent day. I got around to watching the second half of "Braveheart" this afternoon. Scotland. Good stuff. I think somewhere in my hillbilly roots on my mom's side there's a little Scottish blood. Or else a penchant for tomatoes. I love tomatoes. :)
Anyway, I narrowly averted a dead VCR crisis by extricating the tape using only a miniature flashlight, an orange plastic butterknife, and a vanilla Coke. No, the Coke was for me, not the VCR. Although, maybe if I had poured the Coke into the VCR, and REALLY killed it, maybe my dad would buy a DVD player!! And maybe I could "borrow" it when I leave for school in January... :D Eh maybe not, he hasn't touched the VCR since we got digital cable anyway. Oh well.
I just got back from the chamber orchestra audition, and it went really well. I played the Reinecke (I kick ass on the Reinecke!!) and sight read part of a Dvorak violin concerto. I even did well on the sight reading, which never happens. It's just that the pieces for the first concert only require two flutes, which they already have. Those two have been there forever actually. The older lady seems to think she is God's gift to the flute, or the chamber orchestra anyway. The other I actually took lessons from for a summer about eight years ago. But she still remembered my name, which was nice.
Anyway, the conductor (his name rhymes with Waldo, I kid you not), told me they would very likely need another flute for the December concert. And that would pretty much be me. So yeah. Good stuff. This merits a trip to Denny's. Ok? Anyone? Didn't think so. Oh well. Vanilla Coke time, at any rate.
