Eh. Blow off those nasty rejection letters. Clearly since they didn't want you, it's not a program that you'd be happy with. And yeah, you still want a doctorate in musicgeekology - what else could you possibly want to do?!? (And besides, it's a great way to kill another 4-5 years before you have to find a 'real' job...) Seriously, a rejection letter just lets you know that SOMEONE out there has actually received your applications. Don't get too hung up on them. (Again, I speak from experience on this one. I've got a couple. And they all have that "at this time we cannot offer you a place in our program" blah, blah, blah. Not a big deal. Really.)
