Although I never had any bad feelings toward sharps, I did (oddly enough) prefer flats. I liked F-sharp, though. Ack. I'm now realising that after 7 years of band I had subconsciously developed an entire hierarchy of the flats and sharps I liked. I'm suddenly extra glad to have a musician as a favourite diary, because it brings back all these memories/neuroses. B-flat was okay, but E-flat sucked monkey balls.

I guess as a sax player, I have a certain affection for B-flats. Of course, I did like the G-sharp, and the F-sharp thing, but I think that is a hybrid (y'know, part-brass, part-woodwind thing) sort of thing. I did always sort of like the sharps more than the flats, though. The flats sort of seemed like abominations. Now that I know a guitar player, however, I'm learning to change my world view! ;-)

I like a good C-cup every now and then. Fun to play, even better with audience. A-flat is pretty fun too, but more error prone because of the accidentals.

I played trumpet and then baritone horn/euphonium. F-sharps were also a favourite of mine.
