Movies, books, Clive Owen, and such. 2005-01-20 - 6:13 p.m.
Have I mentioned that I missed the Golden Globes? Normally this would make me sad, but then I realized that I only saw one pertinent movie (Closer), and while I thought that movie was indeed very good and that I want to do very, very dirty things to Clive Owen, generally I just don't care. Such is life (or lack thereof) after LOTR, I reckon.
Yes, I'm still a geek. Leave me alone.
But did I also mention that the reason I didn't watch the awards was that I was eating spaghetti, playing flute trios, and watching slides from the resident old guy flute player's trip to England (and Scotland and Wales) last summer?
Yes, I did say slides. Hoo boy. Heh. I actually thought they were interesting, as I have certainly never been to England (or Scotland or Wales). Bah. It irks me that annoying little Bible beaters with no ounce of culture like (Former Best Friend) Meryl get to go places like Poland and Germany and Ecuador for free while I get to go nowhere. NOWHERE, I say.
Anyhooters, I did see The Village and Garden State, due to my recent trip to Bl0ckbuster. Both were fantabulous, methinks.
I finished Lolita. Sad, sad, sad. I'm off to read The Name of the Rose now.
