Ooooooh baby, randomize me!

How can you become a better flute player? Add peas.

Yay. I had a great lesson with Flute Student today. I feel like I might have actually taught her something. Maybe. And I don't know if this is a good teaching idea or not, but along with the recording of the piece I gave her, I told her to listen to a few other pieces, and then jot some stuff down about each of them- just telling me a little bit about them as ascertained by listening to them. Kinda like they were world premiere pieces and I'd obviously never heard them before and wanted to know about them. Yeah. And I told her to be careful in listening to the tempos on the recording- that flutist is very show-offy with fast stuff and very lenient with slow stuff. So yeah. Practicing listening to stuff is good, right?

Hi my name is Sarah and I don't have a clue how to teach flute. Haha. :)

*warning: out-of-the-blue culinary advice ahead*

I had some leftover peas and I dumped them in my ramen noodles and had a (slightly) healthier lunch than usual. See? The secret to health-i-fying food? Add peas. Ramen noodles? Add peas. Double cheeseburger? Add peas. Tub of lard? Add peas.

Also, if you want a gourmet snack on a graduate student budget, try this: spread a smattering of spaghetti sauce on a piece of bread and put cheese on the other. Put them together, spread some butter on the top, and put it in a skillet. When the tops are nice and brown, there you have it- instant pizza sandwich. Sometimes my brilliance amazes even me.

Want a healthier version of the pizza sandwich? Of course. Add peas.

*end out-of-the-blue culinary advice*

For the love of Ben, Jerry, and Slick Willy, somebody please take me to the grocery store. Hmmm. I think my mom and sister are coming to visit me this weekend. What else is family for? :-P

I really should find both the gumption and a sufficient block of time to take the bus somewhere or something. Yuppers.

Well, that's it for me. Have a lovely evening all! Happy Fall and stuff. :)
