WARNING: Geekiness ahead. Don't read any more unless you have finished You-Know-What-Book or don't read even read You-Know-Which-Books to begin with.

Ok, just some notes:

-I really really hate Dolores Umbridge. But I guess that goes without saying.

-Percy Weasley. That whole thing with him turning against his family was left sort of unresolved. But then again, a lot was left unresolved. Rowling seems to have wanted every imaginable character to make a cameo (Rita Skeeter anyone?). Personally I would have wanted to see more of Neville's grandmother, leading to...

-The scene in the hospital w/Neville's parents. I *almost* cried. Note: I rarely cry at books that aren't "Where the Red Fern Grows" or "Anne of Green Gables". And yes, I cried at the end of "Anne of Green Gables". Sue me.

-The whole prophecy thing doesn't seem like such a big deal to me. Of course either Harry or Voldemort is going to end up dead in the end. I also have my doubts about Dumbledore. Pardon me for cross-referencing geekical knowledge, but the whole Harry/Voldemort/Dumbledore thing seems to me an awful lot like Luke Skywalker/Darth Vader/Obi-Wan Kenobi. Ya know? But I'm sure J.K. Rowling has seen Star Wars, and she's certainly imaginative enough to come up with something different, so I dunno. Just a thought.

-Luna Lovegood? Awesome.

-The "room of requirement"? LOVE it. I want one! Muahahahahahahahaha!

All in all, this was a very different book from the previous four. Obviously, it was a heckuva lot longer, leading to two problems: it started off a bit slow for the first 200 pages or so, and the aforementioned large amount of unresolved loose ends.

Secondly, unlike the other four books in which Harry is treated like some sort of demigod, this book has our hero put in a sticky situation- he faces Voldemort alone and Voldemort slices off his hand with a lightsaber before saying ominously "Harry, *I* am your father!"

Hahahahaha just kidding.

Anyway, Harry has lost the support of the populace. Even Dumbledore. No prefecture for Harry! I admit I was a bit mad at Dumbledore for ignoring Harry throughout the book. But I guess he had his reasons.

Grrrr. Then Sirius had to go and die!
